This presentation will highlight why pragmatic development should be of interest to professionals and caregivers alike. From infancy through adulthood, pragmatics can influence how individuals interact with and understand others and their world. Drawing on clinical experience and scholarly work in this area, Dr. Szarkowski will share insights about areas of pragmatic vulnerabilities as well as strengths among children who are deaf or hard of hearing and will offer evidence-informed suggestions for bolstering pragmatic abilities.
