Students at MCI-Concord will now have the opportunity to put those courses toward a bachelor of arts degree in Media, Literature and Culture, through Emerson College, which has become one of only a very few institutions in the state to award degrees to students in prison.

On April 4 and 5, Emerson hosted the inaugural ComEx: Comedy Extravaganza. The two-day featured work from students in the nation’s first BFA in Comedic Arts program, as well as the campus’ dozen or so comedy troupes, and ended with a late-night talk show style panel featuring alumni comedy writers and stand-ups.
Emerson College students recently participated in a crisis simulation in the school’s television studios as part of an exercise conducted in a Crisis Communication course taught by Communication Studies faculty member Owen Eagan.
Award-winning journalist, speaker, and author Soledad O’Brien will give the commencement address at Emerson’s 2019 graduation ceremony, and will receive an honorary degree alongside three luminaries in the fields of history, documentary filmmaking, theatre, and higher education.
