WesCon Protective Services, a minority-owned, Massachusetts-based business, handles security for 172 Tremont, 180 Tremont, and 216 Tremont Street. Northeast Security, a Massachusetts-based company affiliated with the 32BJ/SEIU union, services the remainder of the Boston campus, including all residence halls. The firms succeed Securitas, whose contract expired June 30.
Northeast and WesCon were selected last spring through a competitive bid process by a Security Services Vendor Selection Committee made up of an undergraduate student and staff members from ECPD, the Social Justice Center, Academic Administration, Student Affairs, Campus Life, Campus Services, and Procurement.
Throughout the process, both firms demonstrated a reputation for excellence, a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and values that align with the College’s. We hope you stop by on September 25 to get to know Northeast and WesCon to Emerson and welcome them to campus.
